“For decades I worked as a writer, a singer, an actor. It is through visual art-making, however, where I have found a portal into the deeply mysterious.  I am drawn to all manner of materials: the beautiful, the strange, the forgotten, the trashed—odd and old stuff that I want to rearrange into something new.  I’ve discovered a kind of alchemy, in this taking of things and turning them into something else. In this way of art-making, what emerges in a piece I am working on seems to be pointing at something emerging in me.”

Almost everything I use is re-purposed, including the frames.  The imperfections are a hallmark of my art.”

“It is through art-making that I have fallen into a deep sense of belonging to myself.”
